Resumo

Este artigo analisa a evolução conceptual dos desportos radicais com base nos discursos gerados espontaneamente por 2.345 comentários no Instagram, em resposta a uma série de três vídeos de divulgação científica que apresentavam modelos teóricos clássicos e contemporâneos destas práticas. O estudo visa explorar como a comunidade de participantes (praticantes e não praticantes) interpreta e reinterpreta diferentes referenciais conceptuais. O estudo, enquadrado num desenho sequencial explicativo de métodos mistos, empregou um sistema de codificação de 16 códigos agrupados em categorias teóricas. Os resultados revelam uma clara predominância de discursos alinhados com a fenomenologia de Brymer (39,6 %), sobretudo com a Experiência Vivida (26,4 %), face à presença de conceitos clássicos (19,0 %). A teoria psicanalítica é praticamente inexistente (0,5 %), demonstrando uma escassa representação de interpretações patologizantes. As narrativas de rejeição (17,5 %) e de inefabilidade (16,2 %) são proeminentes, refletindo uma crítica sustentada às teorias tradicionais. A análise por grupos de documentos mostra diferenças na distribuição dos códigos entre as publicações: a Parte I gerou uma forte rejeição (REC_MOD 12 %); na Parte II, o valor esperado (VE) aumentou (28 %); e na Parte III, o VE atingiu o seu pico (32 %). Os resultados suportam a abordagem centrada na experiência vivida, destacando a necessidade de incluir narrativas de utilizadores para compreender este fenómeno.
