Resumo

Developed by Dr. Sun Hye Jun of SOSFO (Seoul Olympic Sports Promotion Foundation) in 1999, the “New Millennium Health Workout” can be readily enjoyed by the general public. On the backdrop of korean traditional music and drawing physical movements from Taekwondo and traditional mask dance, it is comprised of 18 movements and 4 sections (warm up, slow movement, fast movement, warm down). The “New Millennium Health Workout”, consumes 6.3kcal/min of energy, which is par to a 6 minute mid-intensity aerobic workout (6.0kcal/min). Especially effective for enhancing muscular strength, flexibility, and cardio endurance, it’s has been verified to have statistically significant effectiveness over other gymnastic workouts. Recognized as Korea's most wellknown routine, the New Millenium Gymnastics has been disseminated through school textbooks and numerous competitions."
