WADA calls for proposals for 2015 Social Science Research Program May 22, 2014

WADA has issued a call for proposals for its 2015 Social Science Research Program after identifying three areas that would benefit from increased scientific knowledge and evidence.

Applicants, who can be from universities, colleges, small businesses, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, are asked to submit proposals on one of the following three areas identified by WADA’s Education Committee:

  1. Developing intervention models based on up-to-date research findings
  2. The perception of legitimacy of anti-doping rules and organizations and its effect on athletes’ attitudes and buy-in to anti-doping programs
  3. Understanding deterrence measures for the athlete entourage

Proposals must be submitted no later than 10 July, 2014.

All submissions will be evaluated by external peer reviewers, whose recommendations will then be examined by WADA’s Education Committee and its expert group before being presented to WADA’S Executive Committee for approval.

WADA will notify all applicants of the results at the end of 2014.

Further information regarding the 2015 Program, including the application process, can be found in the “Application Guidelines” available on WADA’s website and on the welcome page of WADAGrants. Applications will be submitted using the online application system WADAGrants.
